Cockburn Seniors Centre hosts a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses. Please see our current timetable (ongoing regular classes and activities) and activities guide (short courses, events and outings).

About the Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre is a membership based centre for people aged 50 and over who live within the City of Cockburn.
It provides a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses . These include:

  • Meals - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday (pre-order before 10am)
  • Café - Tuesday and Thursday 9am –1pm. (orders from 8.30am til 12.45pm)
  • Services - a centre-based hairdresser and naturopath (available by appointment)
  • Transport - a van shuttle service is available for members who are transport disadvantaged - bookings required (assessed service)
  • Computer Room - computers/iPads and free WiFi available for members to use.

Become a member 

Membership to Cockburn Seniors Centre is $50 for one year. Memberships run from 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024.

Members enjoy access to:

  • Centre activities that range from free to up to a maximum of $10 per class
  • Outings (prices vary)
  • Meals $12 for two courses, plus tea/coffee and/or main course only $9

Outings

Outings Booking Conditions

  • Outings are available for members only
  • Payment must be made at time of booking for all outings
  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two people (yourself and one other member) (full name is required of the member you are booking on behalf of)
  • Apologies, but cancellations cannot be refunded

Monet Exhibition - Crown

  • Thursday 11 November
  • 9am - 3pm
  • Outing Cost - $62
  • High walking involved    

Monet in Paris at Le Grand Palais welcomes you on a spellbinding journey through the vibrant world of French Impressionism. Daring, intriguing and uplifting, like the works of the Impressionists themselves, Monet in Paris invites you to leave the world behind as you step inside this fascinating period of modern art. 
 
The tour is 1 hour of walking through the exhibit and then you will need to walk to crown casino to purchase your own lunch.

Crown Casino

  • Wednesday 24 January
  • 9am - 3.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $9.50
  • Low walking involved 

Take a trip to the casino to enjoy each other’s company, take in the ambience of the casino surroundings. Please gamble responsibly. Have a great time. Purchase you own morning tea and lunch from a selection of food outlets within the Casino.

February 2024

Breakfast at Scarborough

  • Friday 2 February
  • 7am - midday
  • Outing Cost - $10
  • Low to moderate to high walking involved    

Arriving at Scarborough beach for a delicous breakfast at The Sandbar Café. Select from the scrumptous breakfast menu. Take a walk on the beach soaking up the fresh ocean air with shopping available in the boutique shops along the ocean strip.

Kalamunda Musical “Love is in Air”

  • Wednesday 7 February
  • 9.30am - 3.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $51
  • Low walking involved 

On arrival morning tea will be provided with a cup of tea or coffee. The musical “Love is in the air” is a Valentine’s Day special, featuring a variety of love songs from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Sit back, relax and enjoy those magical tunes, then after the show we’ll head off to the Kalamunda Hotel for lunch.

Advise lunch choice upon booking.

Option 1: Battered Fish, chips and salad
Option 2: Spaghetti – beef bolognaise
Option 3: Southern fried chicken, chips and coleslaw 

Swan Valley Adventure

  • Wednesday 14 February
  • 8.30am - 4.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $51.50
  • Moderate to high walking involved 

Come along and enjoy a day out in the beautiful Swan Valley. You will have multiple stops to be able to get out and shop till you drop or just enjoy the beautiful scenery with lunch being at the lovely Bailey Brewing Co.

Advise of lunch option upon booking.

Option 2: Chicken parmigiana with chips and salad
Option 3: Meat or vegetarian pizza


Pinjarra Harness Racing

  • Monday 19 February
  • 9.30am - 5.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $49
  • Low walking involved 

Enjoy a day out at the Pinjarra trots, sit back and enjoy the excitement of the races in an air -conditioned venue, while enjoying a buffet lunch. Please gamble responsibily.

Set Menu - Roast of the day with dessert and tea or coffee
Includes: drink voucher - (softdrink, beer or wine) and a mystery bet


Karrinyup Shopping Centre

  • Wednesday 21 February
  • 10am - 3pm
  • Outing Cost - $10
  • Moderate walking involved 

Enjoy a day out at Karrinyup Shopping Centre with a variety of leading fashion, dining, lifestyle and entertainment destination. Discover over 300 stores including Myer, David Jones, Sephora, Zara and many more. Purchase your own lunch at one of the many food outlets available. Happy shopping!

Perth Zoo

  • Tuesday 27 February
  • 9.30am - 3.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $37
  • Moderate to high walking involved 

Perth Zoo is a 17-hectare zoological park in South Perth, Western Australia. The zoo first opened in 1898 and by 2011 housed 1258 animals of 164 species and an extensive botanical collection. Wander around the many enclosures and beautiful gardens. Purchase your own lunch at the restaurant or cafés available.

Tina Turner - The Musical

Celebrate the inspiring life story of Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll. The Tina Turner Musical is a jukebox musical featuring the music of Tina Turner and depicting her life from her humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her transformation into a rock 'n roll superstar.
