Cockburn ARC expansion project

Cockburn ARC and the Fremantle Dockers are planning to expand their facilities, with works expected to commence in 2023.
 
The City’s additions to Cockburn ARC will include:

• Increasing gym floorspace to 1,500sqm
• Increasing the body mind and soul studio to 250sqm
• Relocating the main group fitness and indoor cycle studios
• Relocating administration space to increase gym floor space.

The expansion project will also include new shared facilities between the City and the FFC adjacent to the Victor George Kailis Oval, including:

• Two unisex community changerooms to suit all grades and abilities of community football
• One changeroom dedicated to female talent and community female football
• A multipurpose education and meeting space
• Spectator terrace and public amenities.

The partnership between the City and Fremantle Dockers will allow economies of scale and cost sharing for elements of the expanded facility design, as well as a shorter disruption period for members.

Funding for the facility

The project has been funded by a range of contributors, including:

• The City of Cockburn - $6m
• Fremantle Football Club - $2.85m
• The State Government - $2.5m
• The WA  Football Commission and AFL - $650,000.
